Hi, my name is: Niesha Kennedy
My mommy-owned business is: Wee Bit Trendy
My website: http://weebittrendy.blogspot.com
Here’s the story behind my business: I got into the diaper cake business after hosting my first baby shower. I really wanted to have a diaper cake as the centerpiece for the table, but it would not fit in the budget, so I made my own. I was always a creative person, so it came very easy to me and I had fun doing it. My first diaper cake was a HIT! After a few orders from friends, and more satisfied customers, I decided to make it my business. I not only create diaper cakes but other baby shower gifts, favors and services.
What have you learned from your kids that has helped you run your business better?: I have learned to have fun with my business. My 7 year old daughter is very creative, and to watch her create things and remake things is a joy. Whether she is drawing a picture, It always reminds me to just have fun with what I do, the more fun I have, the more love goes into the product and the better I like it and in turn my customer is satisfied.
Why are you and your business ready for a makeover?: Wee Bit Trendy is so very ready for a makeover because we need a little help to make us pretty inside and out. I would love to have our very own website that is designed by someone besides myself along with a domain name. Currently we have an Etsy store and a Blog. We need a nice logo that can really describe and help brand our business better. As far as the inside, I want to be able to afford and construct a better business and marketing plan, as well as implement them to help take my business a step further.
What makes you an extraordinary mompreneur?: What makes me extraordinary is that I put love and quality into each item I make. I take the time to handmake each item and truly enjoy what I do. I also take my business very seriously, after all it is my baby. I am always looking for ways to make my business better and keep a smile on my customer’s face. As an entrepreneur I also understand why it’s important to give back your community. I am very involved in my community and volunteer my time and skillset whenever I can. Through community service I am able to show my daughter how great it is to take care of your community. I have managed to balance life’s duties being a wife, mother and entreprenuer. It’s always Family First, and they support me 110%, and for those reasons I am an extraordinary mompreneur.
